Abstract

Sensors play a significant role in detecting the gases for industrial and commercial applications. In this paper, we have simulated gold and silver thin films for the detection of oxygen in the software environment. The fabrication was done using a simple deposition method technique i.e. APTMS method and analysed the responses using UV-Spectroscopy for both thin films of gold and silver on porous glass substrates. The resistive responses of the sensor are analysed in a gas chamber. The comparison studies of simulation and fabrication revealed that the gold thin film nanoislands have better responses compared with silver thin film nanoislands for the detection of oxygen.
