Abstract
This paper contains a proof of the following Theorem. Let be a simple Lie algebra which is finite dimensional over an algebraically closed field , where , and which contains a solvable maximal subalgebra acting irreducibly on the space . Then is either the classical algebra or the Zassenhaus algebra . Bibliography: 10 titles.
