Abstract

Intralesional triamcinolone acetonide (TA) is commonly used for the treatment of a wide range of skin diseases. Different concentrations are used for different indications. To achieve a certain concentration, TA is usually diluted with normal saline. When mixed with normal saline, TA classically precipitates at one side of the syringe (Fig 1). It is important to properly mix TA with normal saline to get a homogeneous solution and, consequently, the correct concentration. The usual method of shaking the syringe is somewhat time-consuming and might provide suboptimal solution homogeneity.
