Abstract

A simple-chemical synthetic approach to the preparation of reduced graphene oxide (rGO) decorated with silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) is demonstrated, which are appealing as a promising composite to treat the various diseases. The one-step strategy was used to reduce synthetic graphene oxide (GO) and to prepare AgNPs. EDX element mapping analysis presented the Ag content in the prepared rGO-Ag composite. HRTEM revealed that mono-dispersed AgNPs anchored on the rGO. The functional groups present on the surface of the materials were identified by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). UV-Vis absorption study provided information about the electronic states of the materials. The results showed the highly transparent rGO sheets decorated with AgNPs.
