Abstract

The SIMPACK software package is a tool that aids engineers in simulating, analysing and designing all kinds of mechanical systems, for instance vehicles. The equations of motion are formulated in terms of relative coordinates, and can be generated symbolically and numerically in an implicit and explicit form. For realistic modelling, it is sometimes necessary to use elastic instead of rigid bodies. In SIMPACK the kinematics of elastic bodies are developed up to terms of second order in order to take stress stiffening effects of elastic deformation into account. For the covering abstract see IRRD 860691.
