Dr. Simon P. Hullihen (December 10, 1810 – March 27, 1857) an American physician and dentist is rightly regarded today as the “Father of Oral Surgery”, nevertheless during his short life he fought against skepticism, scorn and prejudice, before finally being recognized for his pioneering, inventive and at the same time daring work.
