Abstract

Effects of slip at the boundary on the mixed convective boundary layer flow over a flat plate are investigated. Similarity transformations are employed to transform the governing partial differential equations into ordinary ones, which are then solved numerically by shooting method. The results are presented for different values of the governing parameters. Comparison with available results for certain cases is excellent. For increasing slip parameter, velocity increases at first but decreases after a point and thermal boundary layer becomes thinner in this case. Velocity overshoot and temperature overshoot are noted near the plate for increasing mixed convection parameter as well as both velocity and thermal slip parameters and also for Prandtl number.
