Abstract

Abstract Multimedia data is transmitted in Internet of Vehicles (IoVs) through wireless links, which is vulnerable to privacy threats. To secure the multimedia data transmission in IoVs, a Similarity Aware Safety Multimedia Data Transmission Mechanism for Internet of Vehicles (SASMDT) is proposed based on Device to Device (D2D). By measuring static and dynamic vehicle attributes, Back Propagation (BP) neural network is employed to calculate vehicle similarity quickly and accurately, and establishes IoVs communication groups based on attribute similarity. Furthermore, vehicle attribute is exploited to generate communication keys to protect the privacy of vehicle. The simulation results show that the proposed mechanism can secure the multimedia data transmission for D2D communication groups in IoVs, enhance the network performance and reduce the data transmission delay.
