Abstract
This work is a study of the immobilization of silver species in polypyrrole films electrosynthesized in salicylate solutions. The obtained coatings were characterized by electrochemical and surface analysis techniques. It is proposed that the presence of salicylate in the polymer plays a crucial role in allowing the inmobilization of silver species. The modified electrode presents antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria Staphylococcus aureus.
