Abstract

AbstractA new strategy for the straightforward alkylation of heteroarenes under mild conditions was developed. It employed silver catalyst for the cross dehydrogenative coupling between heteroarenes and cyclic ethers to construct a new C(sp2)−C(sp3) bond. This reaction was carried out in water under room temperature and applicable to various heteroarenes such as pyridines, quinolines and isoquinolines derivatives with good functional group compatibility.
