Abstract
This paper presents the results of application permanent magnets in medium power AC motors. The main advantages of these motors are robust construction and direct on line start ability. Due to similar size they may replace classical induction motor. The full load characteristics of LSPMSM (Pn=110kW, Un=500V) are shown. They prove that this motor is characterized by higher power factor, higher efficiency and lower input current comparing to induction motor. High efficiency permanent magnet synchronous motor.
