Abstract

As a supplement to the preceding article on silicosis in pottery workers, a similar analysis has been applied to 275 necropsies occurring during the same period in several occupational groups, banker-masons, stone-dressers and cutters, metal grinders, sandblasters, steel-fettlers, and coal miners. All are exposed to the same hazard, namely, the inhalation of silica dust arising out of the use and manipulation of sandstone and its derivatives. Table 1 distribution by occupation
