Abstract

AbstractThis book chapter aims to study the importance of SiNWs for their application in different hybrid solar cells. SiNWs have exceptionally good electrical and optical properties which help to improve the efficiency of solar cells. The synthesis of SiNWs can be done by various techniques, out of which the electroless metal-assisted chemical etching method is important. The bandgap tuning of SiNWs is possible by simply changing the length and diameter of SiNWs. The hybrid solar cell fabricated using SiNWs shows better performance and at the same time is very cost-effective.
