Abstract
Abstract Commercially available wet silica gel facilitated the solid–liquid two-phase reactions of p-nitrobenzenediazonium tetrafluoroborate with aromatic amines to afford the corresponding azo-products in excellent yields. The silica gel could be recovered for reuse. The dependence of the yields on amounts of water impregnated on silica gel was discussed.
