Abstract

All-inorganic perovskite nanocrystals (PNCs) have drawn enormous attention recently for their excellent optoelectronic properties. However, the poor stability of PNCs to polar solvents and ultraviolet (UV) light hinders their practical applications tremendously. Coating CsPbBr3 nanocrystal (NC) with an outer layer has been regarded as an effective strategy to address its instability issues. Herein, we have proposed a method to prepare CsPbBr3 NC/SiO2 by adding TEOS into as-prepared CsPbBr3 NC. The key challenge of PNCs in practical application is the stability problem. Therefore, the stability of the PNCs was investigated from the aspects of UV light stability and moisture resistance. Finally, by using the green-emitted NCs/SiO2, and red-emitted CsPbI3 phosphors, a warm white light-emitting diodes (WLED) device can be fabricated, which shows potential applications of backlit displays with a wide color gamut of National Television System Committee (NTSC) value of 110%. This work may provide a new eco-friendly strategy to prepare high performance PNCs and their composites.
