Abstract

Note.—These logs were written while attending a graduate class in group process. They are an attempt to communicate what was observed and felt. So often educational articles and reports identify more with science than with art, more with research than with feeling, more with norms than with the wellsprings of individual consciousness. The effects of the scientific approach are often barren to the counselor who practices the great venture of helping others bring beauty out of their own experiences. These seven logs, all different moments of insight and perception, seek to reflect the work one does as he participates in the dynamics of group process.—Marguerite R. Carroll, Assistant Professor, Division of Counseling and Evaluation, Fairfield University, Fairfield, Connecticut, and doctoral candidate, St. John's University, Jamaica, New York.
