Abstract
This article provides a brief history of ACM SIGWEB with the intention of launching an organized project for collecting and archiving resources relevant to the history of the SIGWEB efforts. Documents and media of all types are welcome. SIGWEB was founded prior to the World Wide Web but has evolved in parallel with it. A historical archive documenting the role of SIGWEB will be an invaluable resource for researchers and students interested in hypertext and Web technologies of the past that will affect a future Web. All SIGWEB members are encouraged to review their professional files for potential contributions. In addition, longtime members are encouraged to provide personal reflections and/or oral histories.
