Abstract
SIGUCCS, the Special Interest Group of the Association for Computing Machinery in the University and College Computing Services, was established under the name of SIGUUC (University Computing Centers) in 1963 as an organization of computing professionals primarily involved in providing computing services to universities and colleges. The membership has remained relatively constant at around 1000 active and associate members for most of that time. In March 1982, the Futures Study Group was established by the SIGUCCS Board. The purpose of the study group was to obtain information and opinions from the membership and make recommendations with respect to future directions for SIGUCCS. This is the report of the Futures Study Group. A membership list of the Futures Study Group is attached.
