Abstract

The article considers the role of the Ivolginskydatsan in the preserva-tion of the artistic traditions of the Buryat Buddhist art. The samples of the significant works of tanka, sculpture, decorative and applied crafts, found in the datsan, are given. The data collected during the practical training of the students of East Siberian state institute of culture engaged in painting decora-tive details of the main temple under construction are presented. The actuality of the search for new artistic solutions in creating the appearance of the main Buddhist Buryat temple; the perspectives of interaction of the religious insti-tions with those of secular education and different creative professional com-munities are noted.
