Abstract

This article describes the results of study on the issue of professional identity in social work, seen from the subjects themselves intervention. The reference framework of the research was set on two substantive theories: Theory Narrative and Ontology Language. The research was qualitative and used as epistemological approach Gergen Social constructionism. The findings identify certain constituents in the Social Worker/ subject relationship of intervention: assessment of social skills over technical skills of Social Workers, the various roles attributed to the professionals, the influence of the institution in the development of the professional relationship and emerging issues such as gender and power.
