Abstract

Russian national operators provide intelligent network (IN) services to the popular majority of Russia. This results in strong growth in signaling traffic. We develop an IN traffic model along with the method for calculation and analysis of signaling traffic generated by intelligent services. In this paper we investigate the principles of IN functionality using freephone service and consider the developed method and its application to a network fragment. Finally, we present the numerical results of signaling load calculation generated by IN calls for the considered example.
