Abstract

Large sidelobe power and high value of PMEPR are the major problems associated with OFDM radar signal. To overcome sidelobe problem a new approach for reducing sidelobe levels has been proposed and compared with the conventional method of MCPC radar signal which uses the P4 phase sequence. The proposed method utilizes Zad-off Chu phase sequence, where it performs the Hadamard product of chosen ZC sequence. Identifying correct Zad-off Chu phase series is very essential to attain better sidelobe reduction. This technique is applied to higher order MCPC signals and a comparison of the peak sidelobe ratio (PSLR) and integrated sidelobe ratio (ISLR) is performed. The complex envelopes, autocorrelations and ambiguity functions of the MCPC signal are obtained from the above mentioned method. The proposed method achieves better sidelobe reduction which can be suppressed up to 6 dB.
