Abstract

Summary For two seasons the side-effects of three insecticides (lambda-cyhalothrin, malathion, pyridaphention) on non-target arthropods were studied in the course of various grasshopper control operations in northern Burkina Faso. This chapter sums up the results. It reveals the importance of certain factors which aggravate side-effects on the non-target fauna (type of insecticide, dosage, microhabitat). Ways of reducing the impacts of these factors are then proposed.
