Abstract

Using the mixtures of the gas-atomized Fe-based glassy alloy powders blended with ceramic SiC particulates, toroidal shape Fe-based metallic glassy alloy composite cores were produced by the spark plasma sintering (SPS) process. The effect of the SiC particulates on the high frequency magnetic properties of the fabricated composite cores was investigated. The Fe-based metallic glassy alloy cores obtained by the SPS process exhibited high density and excellent soft magnetic properties. The addition of the SiC particulates was effective in improving high frequency magnetic properties.
