Abstract

This study examined relations between age spacing of adjacent siblings and measures of family interactional resources and children's academic performance. In the sample were 873 Australian 11-yr.-olds and their parents. After taking into account relations between family social status and outcome scores, the findings indicated that sibling spacing had significant associations with parents' aspirations and children's word performance.
