Abstract
The James B. Macelwane Medal for significant contributions to the geophysical sciences by a young scientist of outstanding ability was presented to David G. Sibeck at the 1992 AGU Spring Meeting Honors Ceremony on May 13, 1992. The meeting was held in Montreal, Quebec. The award citation, delivered by Thomas Potemra, as well as Sibeck's response, are presented here.
