Abstract

The current research study aims to address the representation of gender in animated content on children’s TV in India through the lens of political economy by understanding the perspectives of media experts. The discourse generated by capturing viewpoints of media experts who represent different roles and functions in the children’s media ecosystem will be critical in shaping a holistic overview. States that there is a considerable gap in academic investigation and scholarship that global production practices in children’s TV landscape. India, in particular, does not have an excellent scholarship to discuss children’s TV in India. This research paper aims to address the more significant gap to contribute to generating academic knowledge on children’s TV in India with particular reference to gender representations and the specific opening of analyzing industry practices in the domain through the discourse emanating from the industry experts as well as critical social and academic experts.
