Abstract

The rise of digital technologies and those embracing the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) more closely have changed the way we live by turning many aspects of it into digital data. AI systems and their rapid development and impact on education is a topic that has provoked much thought. New-generation artificial intelligence systems such as chatbots are becoming more powerful and advanced in their capabilities. With the pace at which digital communications are evolving, legal provisions cannot always respond to what is happening. The study discusses the ethical principles that should be followed when creating academic texts and the need to verify them, the responsibility of their creators, if only on an edifying note. The methods of critical analysis, desk research, and discursive analysis of legal and normative documents are used. Some ethical and communication aspects of the use of chatbots as tools for the creation of texts generated using artificial intelligence are reviewed. Insights are provided on the need to create and enforce mechanisms and principles - moral/ ethical and legal, and whether the use of AI-generated text to make academic texts is considered an act/act of plagiarism. The research looks at AI in different sectors, and draws conclusions about its value and importance and why it should be regulated.
