Abstract
Introduction: Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture is a major contributor to the development and progression of posttraumatic knee osteoarthritis, evident in young adults decades earlier than nontraumatic osteoarthritis. Returning to high-impact pivoting sport following ACL rupture and reconstruction (ACLR) represents a potential modifiable factor for post-traumatic osteoarthritis. This study aimed to evaluate if returning to pivoting sport following ACLR is associated with structural and symptomatic osteoarthritis outcomes.
