Abstract
Many of the top liberal arts programs require calculus for intermediate macro. That’s a stupid idea. Understanding calculus is not necessary for understanding the ideas that we should be teaching in intermediate macro, and if the ideas that are being taught require calculus, something is wrong with the course.
