Abstract

A numerical investigation of shot noise suppression due to an anti-dot lattice located in a quantum wire is presented. The Fano factor is investigated as a function of anti-dot size, period, and lattice type. We find that the shot noise suppression is substantially independent of the longitudinal extension of the anti-dot lattice and that a maximum average Fano factor of about 0.25 is obtained when the lattice structure becomes analogous to a chain of chaotic cavities.
