Abstract

An analytical expression for the quantum shot noise spectrum in small conductors in the presence of electron-optical-phonon interaction is obtained. It is indicated that at zero temperature, the low frequency noise S 0 has a singularity at eV = ϵ, where V is the applied dc voltage and ϵ is the energy of the optical phonon. Furthermore, in addition to the dc voltage, when an ac bias is applied, the singularity at eV = ϵ will shift to eV = n h ̷ Ω , | ϵ±n h ̷ Ω| , where Ω is the frequency of the ac bias and n is an arbitrary integer.
