Abstract

Nevertheless, the FL teacher often fails to realize the utility of the medium, owing to a groundless fear of technical complications and the rather widespread confusion among laymen between shortwave broadcast radio, a non-technical medium directed to a general listening audience, and the technical hobby of amateur radio. Such confusion is frequently aided by the multiplicity of books available on the technical hobby, coupled with the poor distribution of the standard non-technical guides to shortwave broadcast listening.
