Abstract

Objective To compare and analyze the short-term effects of open partial nephrectomy and laparoscopic partial nephrectomy for elderly patients with localized renal cell carcinoma. Methods A total of 109 elderly patients with localized renal cell carcinoma were grouped according to random number table method; 54 patients in control group underwent open partial nephrectomy and 55 patients in observation group underwent laparoscopic partial nephrectomy. The short-term efficacy and safety of the two groups were compared. Results The operation time, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative drainage volume, postoperative gastrointestinal function recovery time and postoperative hospital stay of control group were all higher than those of observation group, while the warm ischemia time of control group was lower than that of observation group (P 0.05). The incidence of complication in observation group (3.64%) was higher than that in control group (1.85%, P>0.05). Conclusions Open partial nephrectomy and laparoscopic partial nephrectomy have similar effects in the treatment of localized renal cell carcinoma. Laparoscopic surgery can significantly shorten operative time and postoperative hospital stay, reduce intraoperative blood loss and postoperative drainage volume, and promote gastrointestinal function recovery, which is more suitable for senile patients. Key words: Laparoscopic partial nephrectomy; Partial open nephrectomy; Senile; Localized renal carcinoma; Safety
