Abstract
Objective To investigate the short-term effect of three field lymph node dissection of neck, thorax and abdomen on the radical surgery for esophageal carcinoma. Methods One hundred patients with esophagus cancer were selected, and randomly divided into two groups, with 50 cases in each group. The control group was implemented by two field lymph node dissection of thorax and abdomen, the observation group was implemented by three field lymph node dissection of neck, thorax and abdomen. The indexes during the perioperative period, short-term clinical indexes and survival rate were compared. Results The average number of lymph node dissection of the observation group was greater than that in the control group, the difference was significant (P 0.05). The situation of lymph nodes recurrence of the neck and mediastinum of the observation group was better than that in the control group, the difference was significant (P<0.05). The survival rates of 24, 36 months after operation were higher in the observation group than those in the control group. Conclusions Compared with the two field lymph node dissection, to implement the three field lymph node dissection of the mediastinum and neck able more thoroughly, and help for improving the postoperative survive after operation, and reduce the recurrence rate. Key words: Esophagus cancer; Lymph node excision; Radical surgery for esophageal carcinoma
