Abstract
The author is Associate Professor of Journalism at the Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College, Stillwater. His experience includes academic investigation in journalism and sociology, professional newspaper work, and news broadcasting, as well as a tinkerer's interest in the technology of radio. The present article was written at the University of Kansas, under the supervision of Professor Raymond A. Lawrence, while the author was on leave of absence to study the sociology of journalism.
