Abstract

The water quantity is unbalanced during the scheduling period within consideration of the flow routing time in cascade reservoirs, which brings difficulties in conceiving cascade reservoirs' short term optimal strategy jointly. A model for seeking optimization operation of cascade reservoirs is established based on the water balance equation and with concerning of adding a lag-time term for evaluating the benefit generated outside of the scheduling period because of flow delay in the research. And the combinational Progressive Optimality Algorithm(POA) of a consecutive iterations on reservoirs method is proposed for solving the established model which doesn't possess Markov Property. Finally, a study case within the background of Qingjiang Cascade Reservoirs is applied for validating the model , The result shows that it's reasonable and applicable. The model is representative for seeking cascade reservoirs' optimal operation scheme within concerning of water flow delay.
