Short-term experience using Cormatrix as aortic leaflet replacement or extension in pediatric patients

Abstract

Objectives: The preservation and repair of aortic valve has emerged over the last years. The greatest benefit to avoid valve prosthesis can be expected for the congenital population. Currently used biological patch materials are associated with limited longevity. A recently introduced new patch, made of decellularized porcine small intestinal submucosa extracellular matrix (CorMatrix®) presents promising characteristics.
