Abstract
Pre-procedural use of statins is suggested to improve clinical outcomes in both short- and long-terms for patients with acute coronary syndrome who underwent percutanous coronary intervention [1,2]. Recent experimental and clinical studies indicate that statins have pleiotropic vascular protective effects beyond cholesterol reduction [3,4]. Endothelial function is one of the earliest abnormalities that can be detected in the development of atherosclerosis and contributes to predict the outcome of coronary heart disease [5–7].
