Abstract

The influence of the local environment on the magnetic properties in Pd 2− x Co x TiSn alloys are studied. The total magnetic moment in Pd 2− x Co x TiSn increases with the increase of Co concentration. We observe the magnetic phase transition from the paramagnetic to the ferromagnetic states for x > 0.5. The spin polarised LMTO calculations have shown that PdCoTiSn alloy is ferromagnetic with the magnetic moment on cobalt atom m Co = 1.07 μ B.
