Abstract
Local order in Se 1− x Te x has been investigated in liquid and supercooled state. Analysis of the first coordination shell has shown in pure tellurium a structural transition tightly correlated to the metal-nonmetal transition, in a limited range of temperature, according to thermodynamics predictions. Similar analysis has been extended to Se 0.1Te 0.9 mixture.
