Abstract

Due to the strong repulsion between nucleons at very short distances, we have investigated the short-range correlations. We take the nucleon-nucleon interaction as a short-range repulsive core surrounded by a long-range attractive potential to take these short-range correlations into account. The differential cross-sections for (d, p) stripping reactions are calculated using DWBA which are fitted with experimental angular distributions to extract spectroscopic factors. From these calculations it is shown that, taking into account the repulsive-core effects in (d, p) stripping reactions, the exact spectroscopic factors are extracted.
