Abstract

ABSTRACT Short essay questions have been introduced into the calculus course as one technique to involve students with their own learning. This paper presents some of the ways this has been done. * Based on a presentation given at the Conference on the Teaching of Calculus held at Harvard University on 12–13 June 1992.
