Abstract

In this communication, the results of the corrosion rate analyses on 6061-T6 aluminum alloy submerged in sulfuric acid (H2SO4), sodium chloride (NaCl), and demineralized water (diH2O) are presented and evaluated. The analyses were performed using the electrochemical noise technique and applying the Stockwell transform and the spectral noise impedance method. The results showed that the corrosion rate evaluation calculated by the Stockwell transform is very similar to those results obtained with the fast Fourier transform, statistical method, and mass loss method.
