Abstract
The aim of the paper is to describe the methods contained in the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) draft standard Calculation of short-circuit currents in DC auxiliary installations in power plants and substations, and to test them using the dynamic computer simulation. The test network is a 220-V DC auxiliary system in a power station fed by a static converter. The limits of application of the proposed standard are also discussed with particular reference to DC traction systems.
