Abstract
Abstract An X-band short-backfire antenna has been constructed and tested to optimize its radiation characteristics. The antenna comprises a backfire structure illuminated by an open-ended circular waveguide. The antenna has a high directivity, and symmetrical radiation pattern. The optimized parameters of the antenna have been measured and compared with that of a cup antenna of similar structure.
