Abstract

Modeling and response of a pneumatic shock isolator are presented. The isolator is a symmetric pneumatic spring with self-damping, subject to a velocity pulse. Parametric studies show the effect of non-dimensional parameters on system response. The analysis of response of an undamped spring is also given. Numerical examples are given to illustrate system design.
