Abstract

Partial ureteric obstruction may occur in the course of a vaginal repair. Combined with urinary infection post‐operatively, a characteristic illness with nausea, pyrexia, shock, and oliguria may occur within the first week.SUMMARYThree patients with ureteric obstruction following vaginal repair are reported. This complication should be suspected if the post‐operative course is characterised by unexplained and prolonged nausea or pyrexia. The onset of rigors, oliguria and shock usually indicates the presence of gram‐negative endotoxic shock; the treatment of this condition is briefly discussed.
