Abstract

Abstract— A review of conditions of shock in the dog and cat and the methods of first‐aid treatment is presented. Shock is defined, described, and the theory of shock outlined. Specific reference is made to traumatic shock, haemorrhage, toxic shock, burns, and anaphylactic, electric and anaesthetic shock. Treatment including blood transfusions are discussed.
