Abstract
The article gives a description of the problems met during the design of a shipping container for unirradiated nuclear fuel elements for a pressurized water reactor: classification of shipment; package design requirements; nuclear safety; design of fuel element fixture; design of suspension system between cradle and shell; design of container shell.
